About the work

Abstract painting is an intuitive process for Susan. The object d’art is not on the forefront, rather the making of the painting is one of the most relevant aspects. From the first brushstrokes, laying down color, gestural mark making to mixing the colors, are all about being in the present moment. Allowing the work to drive itself and trying to stay out of my own way. Just being on the journey is enough.

Each painting becomes an adventure and an exploration of self. 

Susan utilizes a wide array of materials and objects to apply her materials onto the surface. Acrylics, oils, oil sticks, charcoal, graphite, brushes, created implements, everyday objects & elements of nature. 

All original works are professionally packed, shipped, and arrive ready to hang unless otherwise stated.
